Warranty

Car Parts Direct provides an automatic 30 day warranty on all parts sold. It is the intent of Car Parts Direct to sell each customer parts of good quality and serviceability.

This warranty is a parts only warranty, which covers defective parts and items sent incorrectly. Car Parts Direct does not cover any labor charges on defective parts installed or removed. We are not responseable for purchaser’s loss of time, inconvenience, loss of use of the vehicle, towing expense, installation expense, commercial loss or consequential damages. In the event a part is defective we will first attempt to replace it with no added cost to you and if a replacement cannot be sent only then will a refund for the sale amount be issued.

In the event a part is received and is not needed or it was ordered incorrectly it is the customers responsibility to return the part to us or our vendor before a refund will be issued. Car Parts Direct reserves the right to withhold shipping amounts and apply a 25% restocking fee in the refund.

Verify with a mechanical or body expert the actual part needed before ordering. We do our best at locating and sending correct parts and would ask you, our customer to do the necessary research before ordering.

Below are some detailed explanations of our 30 day standard warranty.

*Engines are guaranteed against rod knock, cracked block and excessive smoking. Engines come as “dressed long blocks”, which means you get the block, heads, manifolds, timing belts and covers, oil pan, fuel injection or carburetor. They do not normaly come with “bolt on” accessories such as the starter, alternator, air compressor, power steering pump, etc as they can be switched from the original engine. We guarantee only the long block and the internal rotary parts. Any attached parts or accessories are left on to facilitate installation only and are not covered by warranty or guaranteed to be included.

*Transmissions are guaranteed to be in good working order and warranted against slippage or shifting failures. The torque converter supplied must be used. The transmission filter must be changed and the cooling lines must be flushed before installation to make warranty valid. Any attached parts or accessories are left on to facilitate installation only and are not covered by warranty.

*Axle assemblies come complete from drum to drum and are guaranteed to work properly. The gears are guaranteed to be in good condition and bearings are guaranteed to be without material noise. Any attached brake parts are left on to facilitate installation only and are not covered by warranty.

*Cylinder Heads are guaranteed against cracks only.

*Radiators and condensers are guaranteed not to leak.

*Part failure due to improper installation voids warranty.

*Items returned that are not in the original condition shipped (excluding items damaged in shipping and verified by a Car Parts Direct representative) or are not the original part shipped will not be refunded.

*All used parts must be inspected by buyer for defects or safety hazards. Seller states that in no way guarantees or warrants used merchandise for apparent or non-apparent safety hazards.

*This warranty is not transferable and does not cover damage if parts are used in connection with racing purposes or vehicles with racing equipment, or damage by accident or misuse.

*A 25% restocking fee may be applied to returned items.

If you receive a damaged part or an incorrect part please notify your sales representative. If it is determined the there was a mistake made on our part and the part needs to be returned we will gladly pay the shipping back. Once the item is returned and there is not a replacement available please allow 48-72 hours for review and a credit will be placed in the original manner or means purchased.
